DEVELOPER Q&A - SESSION 2

Welcome to the newest Questions and Answers Session where the developers are answering the questions posed by players.

Tell us more about the upcoming changes in game economy!
The in-game progression speed and economy won’t fundamentally change. The only noticeable update is the change of the spotting damage rewarding. Earlier, all damage done to the spotter’s target counted towards his spotting damage reward. In Update 0.19, only the damage from those team mates who are not spotting the target themselves, will count towards the reward. Statistically speaking, this change should not have any major impact on overall income.

The penetration of the Begleitpanzer 57 is 190mm and its damage per minute is as high as 17000 (with the rate of fire of 200 RPM). Isn’t that too much?
Yes, the problem is that with its current rate of fire, the 57mm Bofors gun can deal 5520 damage in 15 seconds. That is too much and it’s clear that we need to address the situation. On the other hand, we do want to preserve its extremely powerful rapid-fire cannon gameplay style. That is why in Update 0.19, the Begleitpanzer will keep its penetration, high rate of fire and damage, but it will receive a reduced magazine for 20 shells with 8 second magazine reload time. It will, however, get the ability to only partially reload the magazine before firing. Its total damage per minute will be considerably reduced, but the vehicle will keep its ability to deal a lot of damage in a very short period of time.

Will you be adding French tanks? They are as important as the British and German tanks for the post-war armor development!
Yes, there will be a full French line added in the future, from AMX-13 to the latest Leclerc series, including the 140mm Leclerc T40 “Terminateur”. When it comes to gameplay, the line will be quite distinctive.

What are the plans for Battalion content?
Update 0.19 will bring the first full “Lords of War” season with added Battalion content. The work on “Battalion Wars” also continues – when we are happy with its state, we will introduce it to players. We do not, however, currently have any time estimate to share.

Are you planning to add more PvP maps?

We are – both brand new PvP maps and existing PvP maps modified for the Global Operations mode.

The description of kinetic shells in the game says that their muzzle velocity is 1200 m/s. Such a shell should be able to cross 400 meters in 0.33 seconds, but the shells are flying much slower in the game. Are there any plans to remedy that?

In Update 0.19, almost all shells will receive their real muzzle velocity, both in description and in the game. As a result, the shell type choice will play a more significant role, for example when deciding what shell to use against a fast-moving target. The ballistic difference between various types of guns will be more noticeable as well.

Will you add new sounds?
Yes, we are planning to improve the sound effects in one of the upcoming updates. Update 0.19 will bring some crew voiceover changes and we are also planning to update the engine sounds.

Are you planning to scrap the entire “shell damage is based on caliber” principle and move more towards gun’s muzzle energy?
As we announced earlier, the shell damage will not be tied only to the caliber, but also to the shell properties. For example, for kinetic shells, the following parameters will be taken into account:

  • Caliber
  • Penetrator material
  • Muzzle velocity

As a result, the damage will not only depend on gun’s caliber, but it will also reflect the shell quality and technology. The first of these changes will be available in Update 0.19.

That’s it for today, we’ll see you on the battlefield!

CONFIRM PATCH 0.19 APPEAR NEXT WEEK ?

Hi guys !
Write this from my phone because its alredy 00.55 AM here. Just want to give info to you, Armored Warfare  facebook page give us leak when patch 0.19 will release next week

This post says about new global ops map in patch 0.19 and in last word it says patch 0.19 will appear next week like what comunity moderators and SS says.  But what day ? I assume in tuesday or thursday.

Also this is confusing, the source is from AW Poland facebook page, not from HERE that usually post official update and news. And still no confirm in Forum and official AW portal.

UPDATE : Looks like we need to wait a little bit longer, AW polish delete the post that say patch 0.19 will be release this week.

NEW COMSUMABLES LOADOUT

Hi guys!
PTS is near us and bringing new tank, new map for PVE, PVP and GLOPS and ofcourse the most important new balance to all tank. From comunity we know patch 2.0 will be release in march but when ? There is no definite date when it come to live server. With the remaining time slightly in march, looks like devs and publisher have busy week now. But that if they really release patch 0.19 in march. I'm sure patch 0.19 comes in April.

Back to topic !
Well in all youtube channel (include my channel) only discuss about new tank and new balance. I want to tell you guys, actually there is so much new in patch 0.19 beside tank and balance. What I want to share here is about new Comsumable loadout, they are Surplus Part Crate and First Aid Cabinet

Surplus Part Crate

Surplus part crate have same funcion like spare part and repair kit, the different is in how much you can use it in match. In total, you can use it 3 times in 1 match. every time you use it, it will fix all component in your tank. After you using it you have to wait about 89.9 sec to use it again. But remember the cost of Surplus Part Crete is expensive, in tier 9 it cost you 55K credit every time you use it. Surplus Part Crete also give you 10% less time for repair component.

First Aid Cabinet

It have same funcion with first aid kit and medical kit but you can use it 3 times in 1 match. First Aid Cabinet have same characteristic like Surplus part crete, it heal all your crew, have 89.9 sec to cool down and cost you 55K credits every time you use. First Aid Cabinet also give 15% resilience to all crew while you bring it.

So that is guys the new comsuble in Armored Warfare. Honestly it expensive but also useful in PVP and GLOPS. In PVE I recomend you to not bring that, because PVE credit income is low.

BALANCE 2.0 PUSHED TO APRIL ?

Hi commander ! News about balance 2.0 development. So, the comunity managers in forum said the balance 2.0 (patch 0.19) will be this month. But now 23rd of march still no signs of that. We have 1 week more of March and im sure it doesnt enough for developer to make a final of balance 2.0 .

And today, SS the Content Managers post article about "Balance 2.0 PTS - Round 4", the PTS taking place from 23rd to 27th of march NEWS. Well, im pretty sure the balance 2.0 isnt here in march. Its already round 4 start from 7th of February and now we get new PTS round 4, thats mean the development of balance 2.0 isnt done yet.

If balance 2.0 release at April, they should not pick 1st april because it means this game in joke. Well, if balance 2.0 really not done yet and still need development for perfect experience, I cant concerned that. But 146 days waiting isnt funny like wait your crush answer your ask to prom night together.

At least for PVE player this is good because PVE in balance 2.0 will be insane, MBT lost their front armor so AI can kill them fast.

Did balance 2.0 will be in April ?

UPDATE

Polish community manager MaciekM4A4 said PTS Round 4 is final of PTS and he argue the patch 0.19 will release in April. Looks like My.com have so busy next week. But I didnt expect too much, just wait and see what happen next week

Read from top to bottom :

  • The question - do you know how many of these "phases" of tests will still be? Is there any natural number or how much will it be?

Final.

  • The first conclusion is that the launch date of 0.19 is already postponed from March to April ...

Not exactly.

T-72B3 WILL BE BACK ON MONDAY

red

News from forum, Silentstalker ( content manager ) says, T-72B3 Red and Blue will be back at monday. Still no clue what monday but obviously next monday 27th of march 2017. In that day, my.com release patch that bring fix MM  for T-72B3.

So, next moday patch that fix T-72B3 will release, so I guess that mean Patch 0.19 or Balance 2.0 will not release at this week and next week. OR if miracle happen, Patch that bring fix to T-72B3 bring Balance 2.0 too. Just my prediction. So, no Patch 0.19 this month.

LATEST PTS FEEDBACK- FIRST RESULT

Hello everyone,

We'd like to share with you the first conclusions of the current PTS build that went live yesterday both here and on RU.

- we'll introduce more diversity to the overhauled automatic guns - some will become more powerful but not as accurate, some will gain accuracy at the expense of firepower
- autocannon aimtime will be improved, instead of 5-6 secs it will be around 3.3 to 4.7 secs (this is pre-crew and commander bonuses ofc, those can reduce it further)
- autocannon accuracy loss when firing will be reduced as well (as in, you won't lose as much accuracy)
- some autocannon-based vehicles (for example, the BMPTs) will receive additional better ammo choices
- autocannon rate of fire will be improved overall

Later on, we will probably buff the most modern autocannons, they will become accurate enough to fire effectively at longer distances.

ATGMs will - as announced earlier - get the "missile noise" mechanism (see this article for explanation), the level of which will depend on missile generation (old missiles will be less accurate than new).

And last but not least, we will introduce some additional mobility changes.

That's it for now, thanks for the early feedback! We'll keep monitoring it for additional inputs.

T-72B3 BLUE PREVIEW

Hi guys !
Today I got my T-72B3 from premium shop, I just wanted to give you some screenshot and first impression in PvE. Im puchase only the blue version but it has same spec as the red one.

In RU server, T-72B3 sold with 3 different color, Red, Blue and Green. Red and Blue has same price ( 2200 ruble or about $38) but the Green version is cheaper, only 1800 ruble ( about $31). The western publisher didnt bring Green version to west server.

The hull is similar with T-90 hull, it have same hit points and same thickness so I can say there is no different with the T-90 hull.

Now the turret. T-72B3 have sam thickness with T-90. The model of the turrent looks same too, the different only in ERA and ATGM jammer. The T-72B3 doesnt have ATGM jammer/APS.

The gun is same too with T-90 ( 2nd upgrade gun) that have same damage, penetration and other. The engine is little bit different, T-72B3 has better top speed and better hull travers speed than T-90 but lose in acceleration.

So, its a premium T-90 without APS.

Its good for PvE, PvP or GLOPS ?
I cant say much how it perform in PvP and GLOPS because lack of player (NA server problem). But I already trying some match in PvE and some mission in Hard mode. For me, T-72B3 is bad for MBT. Since patch 0.18 , AI is more skillful (pffff, cheating with laser aim and super duper accurate gun) so its easy for AI to shot the turret ring. Every match I got my turret and my gun destroy, they are soooo easily destroyed and its annoying.

T-72B3 frontal weakspot

Its only me or other player ? When I drive in T-72B3, all my team is tier 7,6 and 5 ( sometimes tier 8 but same tank T-72B3). MAybe this is a special MM ?

So what makes this tank is special and worth for 9600 gold ?
By buying T-72B3 Red or Blue you get :
- T-72B3 Red or Blue tier 8 MBT
- 3 days premium time
- 5x Platinum battlefield glory boost
- 2 St. Patrick day decal ( special )
- Level 5 crew ( because usually you got noob level 1 crew in premium vehicle, so I think its special)

For me its not cheap, spend $43.98 or Rp.590.000 is very wasteful, but you get the nice camoflage and special decal. It can be nice collection in your garege but if you dont care about the camo, dont click buy and keep your money.

UPDATE : My.com removed the T-72B3 from server because MM problem. Sales suspended, no ETA.

GLOBAL OPERATIONS – BARREN DIVIDE

We are proud to present our second massive Global Operations map Barren Divide, which is coming to Armored Warfare in Update 0.19 "Tanks Reloaded"!
The Lions of Nequiel have invaded a rural region, decimating the city, taking control of all transportation as well as a local refinery and setting up a militarized presence in the area. Another faction called TRF has taken control of the region, removing the hostile factions and utilizing the resources, even arming citizens to fight back but it hasn't done anything to reestablish a safe zone for any non-combatants. It is the player's mission to restore order in the region by driving both hostile forces out.
scr1
The Barren Divide map is a very large map (1800 x 1800 meters) modeled after the rolling foothills of the Caucasus mountain range and featuring typical Soviet-era military structures, industrial facilities and architecture.
It includes many of the popular features from the first Global Operations map Desert Crossing:
  • Mixed Terrain
  • Wildcards
  • Multiple Objectives
  • AI opponents
As seen in Desert Crossing, the objectives change during the course of the mission and will be described in detail in one of the upcoming articles.

MAP MECHANICS

The map features two of the popular mechanics first introduced in Desert Crossing, AI Opponents and Wildcards.
scr2
Barren Divide AI vehicles represent the Lions of Nequiel forces that are trying to occupy the region. Their forces in the area aren't strong, but they are fanatical and will not yield to any faction vying for dominance. The only option is to destroy them, but as the Objectives change they receive reinforcements.
The Wildcards on the Barren Divide map are of the same type used in Desert Crossing with some small differences:
  • The Recon UAV is of a different type
  • Tu-22M3 bombers have replaced the B-2 Spirit from Desert Crossing
The overall use and principles of the Wildcards are, however, the same as described in our Desert Crossing Wildcard article.

MAP LAYOUT

Player starting positions are located in the south-west and north-east corners of the map. The map itself can be split into four areas, separated by a small river – from north to south:
  • Highway
  • Petroleum Extraction Plant
  • Radar and Communications Facility
  • Town and Railway Depot
These areas can be accessed freely – the river provides no obstacle for vehicles and can be traversed easily. Players willing to maintain their speed can use one of the available bridges.
highway
The Highway section in the north is relatively detached from the southern objectives and is littered with the husks of abandoned automobiles, left by inhabitants fleeing from the Lion of Nequiel zealots. Several buildings provide excellent cover for players who prefer short range engagements.
petroleum
The Petroleum Extraction Plant objective is a massive facility south of the Highway. Like the Highway entry, this objective can be held using a lot of cover, provided by enormous buildings and smaller objects such as trucks and containers that cover the area. The facility is a strategic place, allowing the controlling forces access all across the map.
radar
The Radar and Communications Facility objective is an old military installation connected to a massive bunker, located in the middle of the map between two rivers. Controlling it is crucial for any attempts to assault the city. The hills surrounding it can be used as sniping positions against enemy forces caught in the open, while the area around it is ideal for lightning vehicle assaults.
depot
And last but not least, there's the Town and Railway Depot area. The southern part of the map is covered by structures that provide a lot of cover and the enemies entrenched there are very difficult to dislodge. Proceed with caution!
Barren Divide is but one of the maps currently in production for the Global Operations mode.
We look forward to showing you more of it in the near future!

CELEBRATING ST. PATRICK'S DAY

The Irish always were brave warriors. That certainly did not change in the age of the tank when they held their own on the battlefields of Europe, in Asia and on the high seas. Over 200 thousand Irish fought in various roles during the Great War and as many as 50 thousand laid their lives down in perhaps the most brutal conflict in human history. Despite Ireland's official neutrality in World War Two, as many as ten thousand Irish men and women joined the Allied cause to liberate the world from the horrors of Nazi Germany and its Italian and Japanese allies. Many paid the ultimate price for their valor.
scr1
After the war, Ireland's military forces were used in many UN peacekeeping missions and were involved in several shooting incidents. During the earliest missions in 1960, Irish troops found themselves in the Congo during the Katanga region civil war. The fighting was brutal and culminated in the famous Siege of Jadotville, during which the several thousand strong Katanga forces, supported by European and South African mercenaries and even one light attack aircraft, besieged some 150 Irish soldiers in the town of Jadotville. The Irish expertly fought the attackers off multiple times. After four days of heavy fighting, the Irish company was forced to surrender but not before killing approximately 300 attackers without suffering a single fatality.
Other peacekeeping missions with Irish participation included missions in Cyprus and the Sinai, Lebanon, Iraq after the Iraq-Iran war, Somalia, Bosnia and Kosovo, East Timor, Liberia, Chad and, finally, Syria where the peacekeepers were stationed on the border with Israel to ensure the war did not expand. During the UN missions between 1960 and now, 86 Irish soldiers have lost their lives, a legacy to their dedication to peace.
We have prepared several bonuses and offers for St. Patrick's Day and beyond. Saint Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland and although St. Patrick's Day is not just celebrated in Ireland, it's certainly the day to remember the bravery of the Irish.

REDFOR VS BLUEFOR ?

Hello guys !
Tomorow AW portal post article about T-72B3 tier 8 premium MBT. That tank look so awesome for me.

Basically, T-72B3 is major upgrade from old T-72. They receive new 125mm 2A46M smoothbore gun ( same as T-90A gun ) and for the protection, T-72B3 have Kontakt-5 ERA that have better protection than old Kontakt-1.

Full article can you read HERE

Back to topic, at that article you can see the T-72B3 with unique skin, red camoflauge and blue camoflauge.

scr4  scr5

So what that mean ? Based at the article says "In Armored Warfare, the T-72B3 will be a Tier 8 Premium and Reward Main Battle Tank." I think this tank will be reward for future event like Tournament PvP and PvE, Lords of War mode (clan wars winner) or other fraction event.

Because they colored in red and blue my prediction is this tank will be reward for fraction event like RedFor vs BlueFor or The Blues (Chelsea) vs The Reds/Red Devils (Liverpool or Manchaster United) because im fans of european footballs. Just my fantasy what will happened in future. And maybe you can buy it in premium shop too (as usual).

UPDATE : My.com really put it on Premium shop HERE
Happy shopping

IN DEVELOPMENT: T-72B3

One fact of modern tank development is that producing a brand new Main Battle Tank from scratch is an extremely long and costly process. New vehicles generally have many teething issues that can take years of testing to fix, which is why most nations generally upgrade their existing tank fleets rather than developing new ones.
scr1

T-72B3

The Russian T-14 Armata by Uralvagonzavod is one of the few current exceptions, but the lengthy testing process and the vehicle's relatively high price combined with Russia's economic situation do force the Russian Army to look for more affordable alternatives to complement elite units using the Armata tanks.
The T-90 and its variants (such as the T-90A or the newest T-90M) are the next best thing, but even those tanks are limited in numbers, which is why – once again – Russia gets to upgrade its aging fleet of T-72 tanks. The newest major upgrade to the latest mass-produced variant (T-72B) is called T-72B3.
The T-72B3 upgrade was, much like the T-90 series and the Armata, developed by Uralvagonzavod as a cheaper alternative to the T-90A with the goal of improving the combat value of the T-72B to T-90 or – in the case of specific parameters – T-90A level. The idea was to overhaul all T-72Bs still in service to that level for approximately 52 million rubles a piece (of which 30 million rubles are spent on a complete overhaul of each tank). By the time the program was signed in 2012, Russia still had around 4 to 5 thousand of the 7835 T-72Bs produced of various subtypes available that were all supposed to be refurbished to the T-72B3 standard.
One of the biggest upgrades was the vehicle's firepower. The T-72B3 received a new gun – the 125mm 2A46M-5 smoothbore, the same weapon the T-90A has. The gun is fully stabilized and automatically loaded. The autoloader was modified to be able to fire longer APFSDS rounds. The Fire Control System also received a major upgrade in the form of the Belarusian Sosna-U gunner sights with thermal imager. The rest of the Fire Control System was mostly derived from the older T-72B 1A40-1 model, although the T-72B3 variant (called 1A40-4) features an automatic tracking ability. The tank's commander also received the new TKN-3MK sights.
scr3

T-72B/B3 upper frontal plate schematics by Artem Gavrilov

Protection was significantly improved by the addition of Kontakt-5 explosive reactive armor (compared to the Kontakt-1 set of the original T-72B). Basic armor is identical to the original vehicle the specific T-72B3 is based on. In the case of the T-72B Model 1989 (the latest mass-produced T-72B model), it consists of semi-reactive armor elements included directly into the armor layout itself. The internal structure is as follows:
  • 25mm steel plate
  • 37mm gap, partially filled with layers of explosives
  • 50mm steel plate
  • 5mm rubber layer, followed by 3mm steel plate
  • 19mm gap
  • 3mm steel plate, followed by 5mm rubber layer
  • 60mm steel plate
  • 10mm radiation lining
  • 60mm steel plate
This complicated setup improved the protection against kinetic rounds to approximately 500mm-550mm of RHAe and to 600mm-900mm of RHAe versus HEAT rounds (numbers vary depending on sources). Apart from its base armor and the Kontakt-5 ERA, the T-72B3 can also be protected by the Arena-E APS, but the Russian tanks don’t have it installed.
scr2
The 46 ton vehicle is powered by the 840hp V-84-1 V12 multi-fuel diesel, allowing it to go as fast as 65 km/h (although the usual combat speed varies between 35km/h and 45 km/h). The plan had been to introduce the newer V-92 series engine right from the start but the program was delayed. The vehicle did, however, receive new tracks.
There are actually two variants of the T-72B3:
  • 2013 pattern (T-72B3 Obr. 2013)
  • 2016 pattern (T-72B3 Obr. 2016)
The first one was described above and forms the vast majority of the T-72B3s produced. The second variant was built in Omsk and included a number of improvements over the 2013 model, such as:
  • Improved gun variant (2A46M-5-01)
  • Improved engine (1130hp V-92S2F V12 diesel)
  • Improved internal electronics
  • Partial Relikt ERA kit (side hull plates) instead of the standard Kontakt-5
  • Improved autoloader function
Another improved variant called T-72B3M (sometimes incorrectly called T-72B4) also exists, featuring commander's panoramic sights, the upgraded engine from Model 2016 and a full set of Relikt armor.
scr4
A prototype was trialed for the first time in 2011. The modernization process started in October 2012 and is currently ongoing with roughly 1000 vehicles modified to this day (approximately 850 vehicles are of the 2013 model and 150 vehicles of the 2016 model). While combat value improvement over the standard T-72B is considerable, it is clear that the upgrade set was developed with economy in mind.
Interestingly enough, for their short life-span, T-72B3s have already seen combat in Ukraine. How they got there is anyone's guess, but at least one was captured by the Ukrainian army and used against its former owners. Western analysts claim that the combat value of such a vehicle is approximately three to four times higher than that of an un-upgraded Ukrainian T-64A. Very recently, some T-72B3s also appeared in Syria, but it is unclear whether they will be used by the deployed Russian forces or sold or rented to Syria or Iran like the T-90As were.
scr5
In Armored Warfare, the T-72B3 will be a Tier 8 Premium and Reward Main Battle Tank.
We hope you enjoy it and we'll see you on the battlefield!
